The VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies is designed for individuals without a formal background in beauty therapy who aim to access advanced therapy treatments at levels 4 and above. This qualification encompasses various aspects of beauty therapy, providing foundational knowledge essential for advancing to more advanced levels.

The integration of level 2 and 3 units aims to provide a comprehensive foundation for learners. Upon completing this qualification, individuals should possess a solid understanding of health and safety practices, skincare, client interactions, human anatomy and physiology, and basic electrical science. This knowledge prepares them for more specialised training at level 4 and beyond in advanced aesthetic therapies.

Maintain Health and Safety in the Salon:

This unit focuses on educating learners about the importance of maintaining health and safety standards within a salon or treatment setting.

Topics may include hygiene, sanitation, safety protocols, and regulations relevant to the beauty therapy industry.

Skin Analysis and Facial Skincare:

Learners will acquire knowledge and skills related to skin analysis, understanding different skin types and conditions.

The unit may cover facial skincare treatments, including the use of products and techniques tailored to individual skin needs.

Consultation and Client Care:

This unit emphasises the ability to communicate effectively with clients, conduct consultations, and assess their needs.

Learners will develop skills in building rapport, gathering relevant information, and providing professional advice to clients.

Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology:

This component delves into the study of the human body’s structure (anatomy) and its functions (physiology).

Pathology encompasses the understanding of common health conditions and their potential impact on beauty therapy treatments.

Electrical Science:

This unit introduces learners to the basic principles of electrical science as they apply to aesthetic therapies.

It may include knowledge of electrical equipment, safety measures, and the science behind specific electrical treatments used in the beauty industry.
